Colorifix are a Biotech company developing state of the art processes to develop dyes that are biologically produced, meaning cleaner inputs and cleaner outputs uses up to 10 times less water than conventional dyeing practices. The annual clothing volume for the UK alone requires over 20 billion litres of water to dye. If you were standing on Tower Bridge looking down at the River Thames and waiting for this amount of water to pass under the bridge, you would have to wait 3.9 days. Colorifix dyes are biologically produced, meaning cleaner inputs and cleaner outputs that could reduce this time down to about 9 hours.
We recently had a fantastic opportunity to work on a laboratory based portfolio of creative images for Colorifix, a Norwich based BioTechnology company. Colorifix use synthetic biology to removing the need for harsh chemistry in the creation or deposition of dyes used in garments and textiles. Our visit involved producing a set of images for the company based around their working environment, laboratory processes and employees, which could be used as stock images on their website, blogs, social media and across printed materials.
