Business Photography for Colorifix Biotech Company Norwich

Healthcare and Biotech Photographer

Business Photography for a Biotech company who are innovating natural solutions for global problems.

Colorifix are a Biotech company developing state of the art processes to develop dyes that are biologically produced, meaning cleaner inputs and cleaner outputs uses up to 10 times less water than conventional dyeing practices. The annual clothing volume for the UK alone requires over 20 billion litres of water to dye. If you were standing on Tower Bridge looking down at the River Thames and waiting for this amount of water to pass under the bridge, you would have to wait 3.9 days. Colorifix dyes are biologically produced, meaning cleaner inputs and cleaner outputs that could reduce this time down to about 9 hours.

Norwich Commercial Photographer - Blanc Creative

We recently had a fantastic opportunity to work on a laboratory based portfolio of creative images for Colorifix, a Norwich based BioTechnology company. Colorifix use synthetic biology to removing the need for harsh chemistry in the creation or deposition of dyes used in garments and textiles. Our visit involved producing a set of  images for the company based around their working environment, laboratory processes and employees, which could be used as stock images on their website, blogs, social media and across printed materials.

Producing Business Photography that reflects the values and ethos of the clients products or services is an important factor in shooting really photography. Colorifix dyes are produced, deposited and fixed onto fabrics without the need for heavy metals, organic solvents or acids. Their additives rely exclusively on compounds that are widely used in the cosmetics, pharmaceutical and food industries. Showcasing their laboratory, research facilities and fabric testing, gives viewers  a snippet behind the scenes

Organic images truly are the “King of Content.” Business Photography showing real staff members interacting with company branding in real environments have much more longevity than disposable stock images that you will see on numerous sites. It’s about gaining some individuality with bespoke photographs. Potential clients or visitors to your site or those viewing your printed promotional, will see your brand or product as authentic rather than “just another company using the same images.”

It may be hard to believe but for many companies, new working practices and policies surrounding staff welfare and safe business operation has highlighted a genuine need for updating risk assessment, Health and Safety Photography and essential staff training videos. Lockdown easing has been announced and businesses of all shapes and are preparing to ease staff members  back into their roles and many businesses are opting to produce easy to follow online procedures and guidance. Heath & Safety Photography promoting essential workers distributing PPE.

Working tirelessly behind the scenes, businesses have been working 24 hours a day to ensure that lives are saved by ensuring essential protective equipment, emergency food boxes and tests kits are stored, packed and delivered across the UK. We worked with Norse Total Facilities Management division, to document the PPE team at a secret location as they responded to requests for PPE, prepared orders and planned deliveries to care homes, social work teams, schools, district councils, fire services and test and trace teams, as well as delivering food to households in need, or to people shielding.

Lateral Flow Rapid Test Centre Health and Safety Photography

Rapid Flow Testing for Covid-19 has been an important measure in identifying those who might be carrying and spreading the virus without knowing it. Symptom-free community COVID testing is being rolled out across Norfolk after successful pilots in the east and west of the county. We were assigned during the pandemic to document the opening of a brand new testing facility. Imagery would be used for PR, Press and promotional purposes, but would also serve to provide up to date images of test procedures being carried out that could be used in future case studies, printed documents and online news articles.

When you think of Grounds maintenance Photography, it’s not difficult to imagine a wonderful vision of well-tended green spaces and a sense of pride among communities. It shows that the grounds are treated with the care they deserve. Whether it’s parks and gardens,  green areas around historic buildings, libraries, offices, residential homes or school playing fields, Grounds Maintenance make communities happier and healthier places in which to live, work and learn. The Daventry Norse Group Grounds Maintenance division combine the latest technology, the best materials, top quality equipment and well-trained and motivated staff across a diverse range of horticultural facilities. The teams work in areas including: school playing fields, hospital grounds, cemeteries, housing and amenity sites. In addition to the care and upkeep of these areas, the highly skilled gardeners and managers are able to advise customers on opportunities to improve their gardens and grounds.

Why choose Grounds Maintenance Business Photography?

With so much hard work being undertaken by Grounds staff, having professional Grounds Maintenance Business Photography to support and reflect a Professional Maintenance service is incredibly important. Photography can really work for any business, providing creative, colourful imagery that can work as Bespoke Stock Photography, PR Photography, Case Study Imagery and Advertising Material. Generic Stock Photography will serve a purpose, of course, but Bespoke Commercial Photography that highlights you brand, commercial values, professionalism and dynamic staff are just a few reasons why employing a Professional Photography makes financial sense. Bespoke Photography will definitely cost less than high quality Stock Images when you consider how many images you are likely to receive from a professional assignment combined with the fact that you simply won’t or shouldn’t find your own bespoke images across other businesses. We live in an era where consumers are far more considerate of the brands they buy from. Being ‘authentic’ is just one of many reasons for owning your own Business Photography portfolio. The Norse Group is just one example of our client base who actively choose to showcase their full range of business services. Their Grounds Maintenance Business Photography is a diverse sector covering a multitude of environmental services disciplines. People want to buy from and work with people.

Authentic stock imagery in your brand re-enforce a trust for what their business stands for. Businesses understandably use stock imagery to change customer perceptions and generic stock photography purchased online can actually have a negative affect on business. Primarily, it may give a false impression of imagery of your staff at work or false perspectives of the activities behind the scenes. This may invalidate your credibility to future clients as they may perceive you to be hiding the truth about your businesses size or capabilities. There are certain stock images out there that have been so frequently used, that as soon as you land on the website, you will we simply ignore or fail to engage with the business on any level whatsoever. Using bespoke Business portrays a unique value tailored completely to you brand, your services and your values.

Capturing your own Business Photography is a perfect opportunity to increase your brand awareness. As a direct example, the Grounds Maintenance Business Photography case study here, delivers not only company branding, but also highlights the extensive plant and professional maintenance equipment being used by the company. This is significantly more impactful than a generic stock image that you can reverse engineer and find on another 1000 websites.

The Power of Free Stock Images

To give a physical example that relates directly to this article, you can see from the following how quickly the use of generic stock images can water down a brand, especially if an images is attractive. Two years ago,  Blanc Creative uploaded a single concert crowd image to a “FREE” stock photography site as a little experiment to see what kind of reaction it would receive and how many people search for free photographs. WoW! I wish I had a just £1 for every download. 1.8 Million views later it’s been downloaded over 15,600 times and even been used in a FORBES article online. Goes to show just how important originality and bespoke stock photos are for your business if you want to be different and stand out from everybody else.

Norwich Drone Photography. East Anglian Children's Hospice

East Anglian Children’s Hospice – Norwich Drone Photography

We’ve been providing Norwich Drone Photography to clients for almost seven years and excusing the pun, the time literally has “flown by.” We’ve built a great professional portfolio of aerial photography and aerial filming across a diverse range of industries , so when the chance presented itself to support the wonderful East Anglian Children’s Hospice at the Nook Hospice in Norwich, we couldn’t wait to take our Norwich Drone Photography to the skies. East Anglian Children’s Hospice (EACH) offer care and support for children and young people with life-threatening conditions and support families across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk. East Anglian Children’s Hospice offer families flexibility and control over where they receive their care and support, including where their child dies; at home, in hospital or at one of three hospices at Milton (Cambridge), The Nook (Norfolk) and The Treehouse (Ipswich).

Norwich Drone Photography. East Anglian Children's Hospice

The Nook has literally transformed children’s palliative care in Norfolk and North Suffolk with the construction of a fabulous, purpose-built hospice in the heart of Norfolk, The Nook is a modern building nestled in the heart of rural Framingham Pigot providing much needed care. The facilities replaced the existing Quidenham Hospice and has been designed to support families in Norfolk and North Suffolk with the very best services in an accessible purpose-built environment. East Anglian Children’s HospiceWe rely heavily on voluntary donations to support the services we are able to offer to families, children and young people with life-threatening conditions. Support is provided free of charge and EACH rely on voluntary donations for the majority of their income and need to raise over £6 million from fundraising and £5 million in income from our shops each year. Continued improvements in care means children and young people are living longer and with more complex medical conditions. There are currently more than 2,000 children and young people in the area living with a life-threatening condition, who may require an aspect of the service EACH deliver. This figure is growing rapidly. Public Health studies report this could be as high as 6,000 by 2025. Awareness and understanding of our services are also growing, meaning a higher proportion of that increasing figure will inevitably be seeking care and support. Careers may have to be put on hold, healthy brothers and sisters can feel left out and regular family activities and holidays can be rare. During all of this, families are going through a process of grieving. EACH care and support is tailored for the needs of all family members and delivered where the families wish – in their own home, at hospital, in the community or at one of three hospices in Ipswich, Milton and Norfolk. They currently care for 365 children and young people and 463 family members receiving face-to-face support. The family centred approach includes specialist nursing care, symptom management nursing, short breaks, wellbeing activities, therapies, counselling and volunteer services in the family home; all meeting the individual needs of the child, young person and whole family.

Norwich Drone Photography – Choosing the right operator

Flying drones is tremendously fun for people of all ages but there are some big differences between recreational flying and operating as a Licensed Pilot. The combination of fun and endless possibilities for videographers can lead to some inexperienced pilots getting in over their heads. As more inexperienced pilots take on jobs, the chance of accidents occurring increases leaving both the PILOT and CLIENT legally LIABLE for possible damages. Any drone pilot receiving payment for aerial work is legally required to have CAA / IAA permission and valid commercial insurance. Choosing a registered pilot, you can rest assured that you are employing the services of an approved drone pilot who operates in accordance with UK/ ROI drone laws. We’ve been shooting Norwich Drone Photography for many years. In fact, we were among the first 3118 people in the UK to obtain a Permission for Commercial Operation back in the days where Norwich Drone Photography was quite rare. Drones have revolutionised the way we do business but to maximise your investment and any money spent on done footage or photography  as a client there are always a number of things to check before employing a drone pilot.

License – Always ask to see a valid Permission for Commercial Operation or Licensed to cover the type of drone being flown. You can check that your Pilot is Licensed here on the Civil Aviation Authority Website. You’ll find us under Lee Blanchflower Trading as Blanc Creative.

Risk Assessment – Any professional pilot will limit risks on site by preparing a Pre Flight Risk Assessment. Request to see a copy of this document before any flights take place.

Insurance – Valid Insurance is a MUST HAVE before any flights take place. Flight insurance can be obtained as an annual policy or can be purchased immediately prior to flight so there is no excuse to allow your pilot to fly without insurance.

If you think we could help your business with our range of Drone Photography and Drone Filming, then why not contact our team today. We’ll talk you through every step of your project from concept to delivery. You can speak with the Blanc Team on Mob: 07871 364041 or email: studio@blanc-creative.com

Charity Video Production – Barnsley Hospice Fundraiser

Charity Video Production Norfolk  -Films for Fundraising

Charity Video Production is just one of the many fundraising areas that we’ve been involved with at Blanc Creative over the past ten years. We’ve worked nationally and locally supporting numerous charities including Macmillan Cancer Research, Cancer UK, East Anglian Children’s Hospice, Round Table and Break Charity to name just a few. As society, we’re battling with Coronavirus, lockdowns, social distanced families and a situation that has literally forced people to hide in their own homes. It is an absolute fact that video has emerged as a primary source of communication, education, and entertainment through Covid-19 and we’re arguably consuming more video than ever before. Whether it’s well known brands, product placement or personal social videos, moving image is everywhere on social media and a lot of marketers are using it to their advantage, to advertise their businesses, products or services.

Charity Video Production is an amazing way to reach audiences during a time where physical fundraising just may not be a possibility. Social distancing and shielding of vulnerable individuals is often not possible as more stringent conditions are placed across the UK. Charities rely heavily on public donations and donors, Creating an emotional video that grabs public attention is a superb tool to fundraising. We’re arguably consuming more video than ever right now — most of it on social media and more and more people social distancing are just waiting to discover you.

At Blanc Creative, we produce short films that help charities succeed in their fundraising goals without having to spend copious amounts of money. People may very argue that you need to speculate to accumulate, but our ethos ids very much a fair days pay for a fair days work. Our Charity Videos have great content at costs that we truly believe offer fantastic value for your organisation.

Barnsley Hospice Case Study

We love working on charity video production projects and whilst we are based in the city of Norwich, we work with our clients across the length and width of the UK.  One Charity Video Production we worked on was with the amazing Barnsley Hospice, a charity which provides specialist compassionate care to hundreds of local people every year from all over Barnsley.

Barnsley Hospice provides specialist palliative care provides help and support to people with active and progressive life-limiting illnesses such as Cancer, Heart Disease or Parkinson’s. This care strives to improve quality of life for patients and their families by providing pain and symptom relief, spiritual and social support; and counselling and bereavement services. We have an expert multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals who make sure your care is safe, effective and relevant to you. A Hospice is not just a building – it is a way of caring for people. With our support, patients are able to benefit from the best possible care throughout their illness and at the end of their life. Our expert individual care is free for patients and their families but not free to provide. We gratefully receive a grant from the NHS each year, but have to raise additional funding to stay open. Barnsley Hospice relies heavily on public and company donations, legacies, grants, community and eight charity shops. Barnsley Hospice has over 300 volunteers who contribute nearly 60,000 hours a year to the Hospice. Specialist palliative care provides help and support to people with active and progressive life-limiting illnesses such as Cancer, Heart Disease or Parkinson’s. This care strives to improve quality of life for patients and their families by providing pain and symptom relief, spiritual and social support; and counselling and bereavement services.

We worked closely with the in-house fundraising team at Barnsley Hospice to produce a charity film that was both informative, engaging and spoke from the heart about the wonderful services that the Hospice delivers, from both the perspective of the Fundraising team and valuable volunteers  who provide life changing donations to the Hospice. The Charity Video Production not only serves as an important visual marketing tool for all social media platforms, but was also showcased at Barnsley Football Club on match day, presented to supporters on the Clubs Big Screens.

Coronavirus Video Production – Returning to work safely

Coronavirus Video Production - Blanc Creative

Blanc Creative Produce Commercial Coronavirus Video Production for Norse Group as staff prepare for return to work.

A Coronavirus Video Production may seem a bit of a bizarre concept, but as staff return to work following the easing of the Covid-19 Lockdown, Employers have a ‘duty of care’ for staff, customers and anyone else who visits the workplace. This means they must do all they reasonably can to support their health, safety and wellbeing. This can be a difficult time for both employers and staff. Staff may feel extremely anxious about returning to the work environment. Some people might feel they do not want to go back to work, or be unable to return yet, particularly if they are at high risk of getting a severe illness if they catch coronavirus, caring for children or living with someone who is shielding. Producing a Coronavirus Video is an extremely cost effective way to deliver a concise, clear message to staff.

We’ve been commercial films for the Norse Group for a number of years. The opportunity to produce a set of four vital Coronavirus Video Production with The Norse Group SHEQ Health & Safety Team Team during Lockdown was an opportunity that we were keen to develop. Coronavirus Video Production – Returning to work safely

Coronavirus Video Production - Blanc Creative

The final Coronavirus Video Production explains to staff how its offices around the country would operate in the future as it prepared to start welcoming staff back to the workplace from furlough or extended periods of working at home. The film outlines the kind of hygiene precautions, social distancing and new signage staff could expect to see when they return in weeks ahead as COVID-19 restrictions begin to ease. The film also recognises the emotional strain all staff have been under and encourages anyone who may be feeling anxious, to use the free and confidential wellbeing services which are available on a 24/7 basis.

All the measures shown on the Covid-19 Video Production reflect advice from the Government and Health and Safety Executive. The film was designed to help staff adjust safely to what will be a ‘new normal’ way of working. A way of working that is likely to be in place for the foreseeable future.

At Blanc Creative, we’re a team of creative who love to create BIG images that are the perfect fit for every size of business. Because we love what we do, we think you will as well. Drones in Construction. The Benefits of UAV’s

Drones in Construction

Drones in Construction Projects – How UAV Tech is leading changes in the industry!

Drones in Construction

If your business has been considering using Drones in Construction Projects, but you’re not quite convinced, then you may have just landed on the right page to convince yourself to finally make that step. If you’re considering using a drone for your next construction project, there are several important advantages you need to know about. At Blanc Creative we’ve been flying drones in the commercial sector since 2015 and have seen the rapid increase in which drones have been accepted by construction companies, housing developers and estate agents. As far back as 2016, the McKinsey and Company produced a report identified how Licensed Drone Operators would assist future building projects through the utilisation of Drones in construction. Over the past five years, drones operator number have increased to the extent where the used of Small Unmanned Aerial Vehicles have become an affordable,  go-to means for in the building of commercial and residential buildings. From Initial site survey and measurement, Construction mapping and 3D modelling, Progress monitoring and Risk and safety management, to name just a few.  Skies Without Limits revealed that Drones in Construction are expected to positively impact on the UK’s GDP by nearly £9 Billion by 2030 as a result of improvements in technology and cost-effectiveness.

How are Drones in Construction Projects drone influencing the industry?

Drones off a huge amount of functionality, with technology that is developing faster than ever. Drones are getting, lighter, safer and filled with more safety features than ever before.  So how exactly do drones fit into the construction sector?

Site surveys and measurement

Accessibility and accuracy are leading factors as to why drones have established themselves in surveying and measuring construction sites. Flights can document aerial surveys where historically, only aerial photography could be used. Footage from surveys offers a real time snapshot of land. Mapping a construction site has always been labour-intense which on turn means it’s costly. Utilising Drones in construction to fly in and out of any area of a construction site, recording a huge amount of footage and information saves effort and money.

Drones in ConstructionDrones in Construction – Roof Surveys

Roofs needs to be assessed and checked for faults and access is often costly. Scaffolding and ladders are more often than not required, making the process challenging and dangerous. Utilising a drone is a safer, cost effective means, reducing safety risks  of traditional methods. There are factors that do need to be taken into consideration. Two people are needed to operate Drones in Construction surroundings. Extensive pre flight risk assessments must be undertaken.  These individuals will have to know the exact flight route of the drone and have experience and knowledge in the field..Site Inspections

Drones Help You Monitor Progress

Drones in Construction help you and the construction company visualise the completed project and remotely assess how the work is going every step of the way. Construction can be time-consuming , and it’s not always easy to communicate to a client where exactly your time and their money go. Drones negate that uncertainty by allowing careful observation throughout the entire process.

Drones Make Your Company More Competitive

Drones have gained traction at such a fast pace and that companies using Drone technology now truly have a competitive advantage over other companies that are less innovative and sticking to traditional ways of surveying and analysing job sites. Incorporating drone technology in your projects can be an enticing sales tool that may make the difference between a lead and a customer.

STOCK PHOTOGRAPHY HAS A PLACE IN YOUR BUSINESS

BUT IS THERE’S ANYTHING QUITE LIKE BESPOKE STOCK PHOTOGRAPHY?

Trawl the internet for Business Stock Photography and there are literally hundreds of stock image libraries and hundreds of thousands of images that can be purchased for your business needs. So what it’s it that we all go on websites and find the same images over and over again. Stock Photography range from completely free photos, all the way through to renowned high-end providers. The problem is that purchasing Business Stock Photography is exactly that, It’s Stock Photography and everybody and their brother or sister is likely to also have it on their websites or Promotional material. To put things into perspective, Eight months ago I submitted the following generic image that I had taken, onto a completely Free Stock Image Platform to see what kind of response I would receive offering the image in a Free Business Stock Photography format. I have to say the results were pretty staggering.

Business Stock Photography

The image has received almost ONE MILLION VIEWS and has been downloaded over 6000 times by people. That’s 6000 potential brochures, webpages, blogs or other digital or printed media platform usage. From a photographers perspective, it’s absolutely great that people think the image is creative enough that they want to download it, but it also demonstrates why individuality in business is so essential when producing marketing and PR material. We already know just how important visuals are to people, so why take your most powerful medium of speaking to people and make it generic? Using stock photos misrepresents what your company stands for and lacks originality every time. If a client sees an image on two or more different websites, the meaning behind the photo becomes redundant, as it creates inconsistency in the photos. How many times do you see Shiny offices with sleek interior design, professional Armani Clad staff portrayed on Stock images only to walk into your client and find an untidy, dark office space with dishevelled, tired looking staff. Stock Photography can be a huge “smoke and mirror’ area for your business. We already know just how important visuals are to people, so why take your most powerful medium of speaking to people and make it generic? Using stock photos misrepresents what your company stands for and lacks originality every time.

So how can a businesses be seen as individual when we use stock images? It can’t! And stock images at the higher end can cost a serious amount of money when compared with creating affordable bespoke Stock Photography for your own business. For example, we worked with a client to produce a set of food based images for an advertising campaign. They had looked at purchasing images for their brochures. A set of three, high resolution Business Stock Photography images showcasing Food Products, with limited time usage, would cost around £1000. For the same cost, we were able to offer a comprehensive pre-shot consultation, on-site photography for a full day and deliver a set of 30 high quality Bespoke Business Stock Photography that can be used across the business without the fear of re-licensing or anybody else using the images for campaigns. The power of bespoke stock imagery simply can’t be under-estimated. It really is so valuable. We all live in a world where the high-resolution phone camera has become part of everyday life. I agree with many people thats smart phones and the editing software that come with them can take amazing photographs. The truth though, it that the parameters of an experienced professional photographer combined with a professional camera and post shoot editing will out way smart phone photography every single time.
