I work with a talented bunch of creatives who help with our in-house projects, commercial assignments and those important aspects behind the scenes that just wouldn’t happen if I worked alone. We’re really proud to showcase our client list so here’s just a small sample of some of the businesses we’ve worked with;

My work has been published in international publications including The Daily Mail, Sunday Time, The Guardian, Daily Telegraph, Daily Mirror, The Sun. Our portfolio of commercial photography and press photography also extends to many local newspapers including Eastern Daily Press, Eastern Evening News, Resident Magazine, Norfolk Magazine & Bride Magazine.

So how did it all start for Lee Blanchflower?

In brief, I always played with cameras. I bought my first at the age of eighteen, did nothing serious with it and never had any form of training in the art of photography. In a former life, I was a Police Sergeant and worked as an Evidence Gather on the Police Support Unit. That’s the Riot Team. Wearing some seriously protective clothing and with a suitably dressed minder with a riot shield, my job, was to capture visual evidence of violent disorder in hostile environments. It was the dawn of the digital age. Images were instantly available to view and this literally changed my life. I loved everything about Digital Photography. It’s bizarre looking back.

I remember walking into a well-known camera shop and a member of staff advising me that these new Digital Cameras were “Good. But they’ll never replace film cameras.” It still makes me laugh today. I was starting to get inquiries for work and I never dreamt that within four years, I’d take an eighteen-month career break and headed out to India to shoot my first genuine Travel Photography, capturing everyday life in some of the worst slums and poverty-stricken areas of Bangalore. I walked away from the Police Service in 2010 and opened my own business as a Norwich Commercial Photographer. I’ve been working as a professional photographer ever since.

Is Lee Blanchflower Really an Award Winning Photographer?

The simple answer is yes. For two consecutive years (2012 & 2013) I was nominated as a finalist in the SWPP Photographer of the Year Awards, held at the London Hilton Metropole Hotel. In 2012 I was unsuccessful in the ‘Portrait Photographer of the Year,

Category, for work commissioned for the National Lo’real Colour Trophy Professional Hairdressing Competition. In 2013, I was again nominated. This time, however, luck was on my side and I was successful, winning the Category of ‘Travel Photographer of the Year’ for imagery shot in New York.
