Last year over 10,800 tonnes of salt were used to grit Norfolk’s roads. Jason Glasspoole, Operations Director at Norse Highways, said his team was ready for the job in hand as the conditions now begin to turn colder.
“The new technology is more efficient at salt distribution and you get almost instant results and adjustments in the amount of salt being dispensed on to the road and the area of coverage,” he said. “All of which is even more efficient.”
“These new gritters will have a long road ahead of them, as Norse Highways teams do their vital job to keep people safe as the colder weather sets in throughout the winter. It’s important for us to stay up to date and use the latest technology to be as efficient as possible, which is why we’re making these replacements.
