Business PR Photography

Business PR Photography- Norse Group Tidy Up

Business PR Photography is a form of commercial photography with a news angle commissioned to create images for a business, organisation or individual’s news usage. We’ve been delivering professional, well-composed News images for many years. Not only , do we work directly with independent and national companies, but in Freelance capacity, we’ve globally syndicated hundreds of News Photography and Music Photography images to press outlets, newspapers and TV News channels. Images elevate stories and add an element of exposition, so the reader is immediately aware of the story with a simple glance at the Headline and photographs.

Business PR Photography – 2019 Tidy Up

We covered the NORSE Group 2019 Tidy-Up campaign again this year. Staff at Norse Group locations turned out in force up and down the country to take part in the 2019 Norse ‘Tidy Up’. The event saw almost 130 largely office based workers (80 in 2018) at 14 locations, donning high viz jackets and gloves and using litter pickers to collect more than 180 bags of rubbish. Locations which took part included Barnsley, Daventry, Exeter, Great Yarmouth, Medway, London, Newport, Norwich (where four picks in total were held),  Wellingborough, Lowestoft and Gressenhall in Norfolk. The third ever Norse Tidy Up also involved staff from NorseCare’s The Meadows facility in Norwich. At least one Norse member of staff also volunteered to carry out his own ‘mini’ pick in North Norfolk and several members of staff came in on their day off to take part. The biggest Tidy Up was at Fifers Lane in Norwich where 20 or so staff tidied up a route stretching from Norse’s Fifers Lane headquarters and the surrounding streets, collecting around 245 cans, more than 60 bottles and 27 plastic bottles, which were sent for recycling. Other litter picks in Norwich were held by staff at Lancaster House on the Broadland Business Park and at Townshend House in the city centre. Staff in Barnsley joined others in cleaning up a local beauty spot and in Wigan items discovered included a bike and a pregnancy test! The pick in Lowestoft collected the most bags of litter,  26 in total!

Group Managing Director Dean Wetteland said the event was a big success, adding that the Tidy Up was becoming an important annual feature of the Group’s Norse Way corporate social responsibility calendar. He said:

“Encouraging office based staff and managers to volunteer to collect litter is a simple but effective way of demonstrating our commitment to the environment and the communities we serve. I’m delighted the Tidy Up has grown again, with a record number of litter picks taking place this year. Littering our streets is completely unacceptable and I believe there is a real enthusiasm for this sort of community based action and, as a company with a strong social conscience, we wanted to set a positive|”

We approached the assignment slightly differently this year, building a set of Business PR Photographs that were both transferable across the business and creative enough to ensure the images could be used across tenders, news and case studies. Shooting Event based images will capture attendees in the moment, but one of our main priorities is delivering a maximum Return on Investment for our clients with Business PR Photography that has a large distribution value. Shooting element of Stock Photography enables our clients   to publish press releases on the companies website, forwarded images to relevant media and news outlets, but also archive the creative photographs for future projects.

Norfolk Food Photography

Norfolk Food Photography
Blanc Creative have specialised in Norfolk Food Photography for almost a decade and have had the pleasure of working across the very best Restaurants, Hotels, Food & Drink Manufacturers and Retailers throughout East Anglia.

We recently had the chance to shoot some great Norfolk Food Photography work with Nick Mills and the team at Brasteds. Brasted’s is a multi award-winning catering and events company, with over 30 years’ experience serving royalty, dignitaries, celebrities and guests across Norfolk. Located in the picturesque privately owned village of Framingham Pigot in the heart of the Norfolk countryside, but just 4 miles from Norwich city centre, they proudly offer a 2 AA Rosette Restaurant, which has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment, 5 AA star boutique rooms, Brasted’s Lodge and their own wedding and event suite.

In the summer of 2019, we collaborated on a Norfolk Food Photography Project that would showcase a Menu that would launch the restaurants brand new Hospitality & Events Business, Complete & Utter Brasteds. We used only natural light to compliment the fresh ingredients and beautiful creations artistically built by the Brasteds Chefs. Amazing food doesn’t have to be bathed in artificial light and the concept of the assignments reflect this from the components used to create the artistic dishes all the down to crockery and props used throughout the shoot.

Our style of Norfolk Food Photography successful food photography has a rustic, minimal but modern feel to it, which can be used perfectly across a really diverse range of food and drinks. We always plan our food photography with our clients to ensure we can maximise our time on site which in turn maximises our clients return on their investment in professional photography.

Urban Drone Photography over Norwich City

Urban Drone Photography

Urban Drone Photography Norwich

Drone Photography NorwichUrban Drone photography is still a relatively new style of photography and comes with its own set of challenges. Here in the The UK, The Civil Aviation Authority lay down a set of air navigation laws that apply to the use of drones with an emphasis on protecting unlawful flights in congested areas. The purpose of these laws is there to protect not only members of public but also to protect licensed drone operators who operate within the law when carrying out Urban Drone Photography. Following recent arrests by climate change demonstrators at London’s Heathrow Airport and major disruption at Gatwick Airport during December 2018 the Civil Aviation Authority implemented new strict regulations for drones that carry a camera on board and record data.

The Congested Area – Urban Drone Photography

A congested area is defined as ‘any area of a city, town or settlement which is substantially used for residential, industrial, commercial or recreational purposes.’ This covers a multitude of locations including housing estates, retail parks, theme parks, shopping centres, industrial areas, football grounds and city centre areas. It means that urban Drone Photography can be difficult to capture “LEGALLY” as the requirements to fly mean that many areas are off completely off limits and finding an area in an urban environment that ticks all the boxes for safe lawful flights are often limited.Commercial Drone Filming Norfolk

St Annes Quarter Norwich

Undertaking “Legal”Flying in the Centre of the City of Norwich falls completely into the realms of the Congested Area. However, working with Orbit Homes to document the building of an exciting new community of prestigious residential and commercial properties in Norwich, we opened up the ideal opportunity to capture Urban Drone Photography and scenes of  the vibrant, history filled city. Congested Area flights prohibit flying near a congested area at any distance closer than 150m. This is just one rule of many that dictate where a drone can be flown, alongside restrictions such as flying over 50m away from another person and keeping the drone within 500m of the pilot horizontally at all times. In order to acquire such permission, it is important that you are able to demonstrate the safety measures you plan to put in place to ensure that you fly responsibly in this risky area in a way that put no person, property or fellow aircraft in danger.

Professional commercial Drone Photography in a congested area requires extensive planning, risk assessment, insurance and a permission from the Civil Aviation Authority to allow for commercial operation. There are literally thousands of unlicensed drone operators currently flying within the UK and as recently as September 2019, reports of a near miss involving an Air Ambulance narrowly missing a Drone flying at three times the legal height were reported to the Civil Aviation Authority. Why You Should Only Hire a Licensed Drone Pilot?

Putting an unlicensed pilot to work, particularly when filming Urban Drone Photography, breaches CAA regulations if there is any form of payment either in terms of money, goods or services in return for flying for a client. While the pilot ay be prosecuted, you may also be held responsible. In addition to these fees, you could find yourself liable for damages that result from operating the drone. Providing aerial photography and videography, drones are capable of capturing a huge amount of detail including things that shouldn’t end up on film. If these devices violate a person’s privacy rights in any way, you and the unlicensed pilot could be held accountable. Licensed Operators understand the limits of privacy laws and how to direct the drone in a way that won’t violate these rights. UK Drone Licensing requires an individual to show they understand how to not only operate a drone, but also how to fly  in a variety various conditions such as avoiding obstacles or considerations of bad weather. Without this knowledge, the risk of an accident increases, putting you and others in danger.

He also explained that he would be collaborating with Amorphous Androgynous for a second album that is due for release in 2012. The singles for Gallagher’s debut album are “The Death of You and Me”, “If I Had a Gun”, “AKA… What a Life!” and “”Dream On””. We like to think that in almost eight years in the industry, that our Commercial Photography Norwich portfolio covers most areas of work that commercial clients require. You’ll find new Commercial Photography popping up on our Blog Section almost every week and we’re pretty proud of specialising purely in this arena. It means that our skill set is geared only to business. Our clients really like this. We shoot PR Photography, Press Photography, Professional Music Photography for Newspapers, Magazines, and online Websites. We’ve had work regularly printed in Mainstream Newspapers, International News Websites, and Magazines. Our commercial photography has been used by International TV Stations to accompany news stories and we shoot Professional Music & News Photography for an International Press Agency based in London and New York.

We have a great portfolio of Advertising Photography, Corporate Event Photography, and Editorial Photography, but we don’t shoot Product Packshots! There’s no particular reason behind this, but photographers are no different to other professionals and you simply have to enjoy your work. It means you can deliver the best results for your clients and we simply took the decision that this area really doesn’t appeal to our creativity. We live in an age where Mobile Phone Technology and affordable cameras make photography accessible by most people. Shooting Professional Commercial Photography that reflects your business values, your dynamic staff and your key services or products are an invaluable part of your visual engagement where camera photography just won’t do! We truly hope you’ll like what you find in our Portfolio and would love to help you make your visions a reality. Norfolk Tourism Photography

Norfolk Tourism Photography

Shooting Norfolk Tourism Photography has been a significant aspect of our spring and summer work. We work with a number of independent companies and a large Tourism partnership across Norfolk. We have worked on a wide range of dedicated briefs to showcase local Norfolk Coastal based tourism. The images promote Norfolk Tourism to potential visitors. Our Norfolk Tourism Photography focused on beautiful landscapes but with a particular focus on the local life and the people who visit Norfolk. Building a bespoke set of Stock images for a business is important. Images need to reflect every demographic who visit our county but the concept is about enjoyment, fun, and relaxation.

Norfolk Tourism Photography doesn’t always have to be about vast landscapes and rolling clouds. With our bespoke Norfolk Tourism Photography, we use our experience to adopt a very simple approach. We photograph real people enjoying Norfolk. We obtain permission (always with written consent using a legal model release form) and document their visit to Norfolk. There really is nothing that captures the essence of our county more than real people enjoying their stay or life. It makes our Norfolk Tourism Photography so believable. Because it’s real!

Travel Photography – The Real Marrakech

Marrakech. The City that Hates Photographers!

Marrakech Street Photography

You may think that this is a bold, brash statement but essentially, it’s true. As an award-winning Travel Photographer, with an extensive collection of air miles, I’ve never really experienced a location quite like Marrakesh.

Marrakech is indeed a city that hates photographers. On October 3rd, 2014, Blanc Creative’s Director of Photography, Lee Blanchflower & Videographer, Phil Shaw, left Gatwick Airport for five days of Travel Photography & Street photography in the Red City. Along the way, they would create an invaluable guide to the pitfalls, scams and real side of working in the field in a bustling city where the camera carries a massive amount of prejudice for anybody carrying one. For whatever reason, Marrakech residents hate being photographed to the extent where they not only make this clear in person but literally let out a rallying cry to the whole street the moment they see a lens being raised. There is, of course, an exception to this rule. It takes the form of the universal fingering rubbing symbol for ‘we want cash’ as locals of all ages from toddler to pensioner gesture for money in return for a few seconds of standing still. Even the sheep and horses don’t come free… Local spotters on virtually every street attempt to aggressively intimidate the unseasoned photographers into parting with unreasonable amounts of cash.

The whole Marrakech v Travel Photography problems are nothing new. A number of renowned Magnum Photographers Power and Goldberg were commissioned by the unopened  Marrakech Museum for Photography and Visual Art (MMPVA). The Museum which will eventually house one of the largest photography and digital visual media spaces in the world was inspired by Magnum’s recent Postcards fromAmerica collection, whereby some of the worlds most infamous agency’s photographers collaborated to post imagery online as they shot them as part of an experimental project. The Marrakech project was plagued with problems for the five photographers, who all resided in the very heart of Marrakech in neighbouring Riads. Two of the photographers working on the project experienced significant problems despite their considerable experience. In light of this and many more similar stories, just how did the Blanc Creative team Lee Blanchflower & Phil Shaw manage in the same environment, without the aid of any local fixers and on the busiest week of the Marrakech year as the city prepared to celebrate Eid al-Adha (Festival of the Sacrifice).

Worried About Buying Stock Photography?

Why Not Commission Bespoke Imagery For Your Business. It’s Less Hassle Than You Think!

The Complaint

Getty contributors woke today to an email from Paul Banwell, Senior Director of Contributor Relations at Getty Images, in which he stated;

Our complaint focuses specifically on Google Images, which has impacted the competitiveness of our business by siphoning off traffic and promoting piracy – to the detriment of the 200,000 contributors who rely on us to earn a living. On a broader scale, this has impacted the interests of content creators around the world, allowing Google not only to profit from their work, but also to reinforce its role as the internet’s dominant search engine and thus maintain its monopoly power.”

Getty Images says it will file a competition lawsuit with the EU against Google, after changes to Google’s picture search promote piracy and give the search engine giant unfair advantages in the way it manages traffic and advertising protocol. This isn’t the first time that Google has been in hot water and with complaints over allegedly breaching EU Competition laws. Google has been issued formal antitrust charges over allegations that it has taken advantage of it’s influential position in the market specifically with  its Android operating system. The European Commission sent a statement of objections to the tech firm, alleging that it has breached EU competition law. Google is accused of placing onerous requirements on firms using Android and stifling competition. The company has in the past dismissed allegations it has used its dominant position to stifle competition.

Our Best Kept Secret! How To Set The World Alight With Affordable Bespoke Photography.

Accidental piracy

Heading back  to the recent complaint, Getty Images claims Google is displaying pictures in its search results that takes away traffic that would otherwise go to Getty’s own website. The iconic agency indicates that because image consumption is pretty much instantaneous, that once an image is shown in a large format by Google, that the need for customers to continue to the website (the originating source site) is reduced as they are essentially  giving the picture out that they are viewing.

“These changes have allowed Google to reinforce its role as the internet’s dominant search engine, maintaining monopoly over site traffic, engagement data and advertising spend,” Getty said in a press release.”This has also promoted piracy, resulting in widespread copyright infringement, turning users into accidental pirates.”
